Affirming Ministry at NUC
The Norval United Church Affirming Ministry team formed in early 2022 to pursue Affirming Ministry (AM) designation. They asked how we can be more public, what we need to learn, and how to be more intentional in our community.
Our team leads Norval United to fully embrace God’s welcome, love, and justice for all.
AM communities commit publicly to inclusion and justice for all sexual orientations and gender identities, reflecting God’s love and continually growing.
We meet the membership criteria of Affirm United and are listed in their national directory.
Public
Out and proud, with inclusive signs, symbols, and language visible inside and outside the church.
Intentional
Deliberate in their process of study, education, and open dialogue within the faith community.
Explicit
Clearly welcomes queer, trans, and Two-Spirit people and their gifts, and is a sanctuary against racism, homophobia, and transphobia.
