Annual Bill Laidlaw Memorial Golf Tournament

Golfers, Friends of Norval United, Hole Sponsors, Prize Donors, Dinner Guests and Volunteers.

It is out of the concern for everyone’s safety that we must cancel what would have been our 17th tournament in support of the Youth at Norval United Church and in the Georgetown Area.

Whether it was the golf, the on-course camaraderie, the great volunteers, the terrific food, the prizes, the auction items, the special dinner presentations, seeing old friends or just the being in the presence of all of the above, we will all miss it.

This tournament has been built around the memory of Bill Laidlaw, a local farmer who believed in people, loved farming and Norval United Church.

With your support through the last 16 years this tournament has raised over $140,000 supporting youth programs at Norval United Church, Mission Trips, High School Scholarships, Post Secondary Scholarships, Youth Leadership awards, Youth Outreach, Georgetown Canadian Tire Jumpstart and youth facilities at the new church.

The Bill Laidlaw Memorial Fund was structured to have a reserve to give ongoing program support. Every group who received funding last year will receive it again this year.

We understand these are difficult times for many and supporting your favourite programs is on hold.

We also know that supporting this tournament and the youth programs involved was important to many of you
