Worship Team News – Gifts from York UC!

On Thursday January 16th a small group of Norval folks took a trip to York United, a small rural church, near Hamilton Ontario. The congregation had recently held their last service and through the process of closing their building, put out a notice about items available should others be willing to come and collect them.

Members of the worship team and staff felt there were some items of value and Elaine van Doorn responded to York United’s contact, Rev. W. Douglas Mitchell, advising of our congregation’s interest.  After a short flurry of communications just before Christmas it was agreed that our small group would travel to York to assess and hopefully be able to re-home a few items.

We are pleased to report the trip was successful and we’re happy and blessed to give new life and continued church use to a number of items including offering plates, a beautiful electronic piano (which Alan used last Sunday) and some tech/av items which will help support our ongoing services and ministries.

We wanted to publicly thank the Congregation of York United for their generosity and say that we look forward to having these items continue the work which was started in their former home at York.
